School Hockey Tournament and school sponsorshipUp-and-coming hockey players will also be playing an active part in the EuroHockey Indoor Championships. It is planned to hold a school hockey tournament with eight school teams from all over Germany, with mixed teams in the competition class IV. The regulations state that there must always be three girls on the field. The tournament will take place on Friday afternoon and Saturday in a hall as near as possible to the Arena, so that the participants will have the opportunity to watch the ‘big ones’.
Sat.1 TV presenter Matthias Killing as stadium announcerNot only on the field of play will the best of their profession be active. There will also be real ‘stars’ at the stadium microphone. Matthias Killing will again be there in the Arena Leipzig. The popular presenter is part of the regular crew of Sat.1 breakfast TV, among other things. In addition he is in action at international football broadcasts, at the ringside of major boxing matches and is no stranger to important hockey events. He has often helped to build up the spectators’ excitement at final games of the best German hockey teams and has provided the spectators with important information and interesting interviews. Matthias Killing and the tournament DJ Tim Scheiböck form a very experienced duo. Tim Scheiböck has DJ’ed for the Hamburg Sea Devils in the NFL Europe and for HSV Handball as well as at several hockey finals. He has the right song for every occasion and knows exactly how to fire up the players and fans musically.
Official receptionThere will be a reception for all officials and representatives of all the participating teams from 8.30 pm on the Friday evening in Gondwanaland, the new tropical adventure world in the Leipzig zoo
adidas play areaDHB equipment partner adidas has created a special programme for younger visitors. A play area will be constructed around the main hall, where children can be looked after by trained coaches, have fun and win prizes.
Exhibitors invite you to browseIf you would like to equip yourself with the latest hockey outfits and kit during the event, you can visit the stands of well-known hockey suppliers. In addition to adidas and other suppliers, the host ATV Leipzig will be present with their own stand. The exhibition area will also be the site of several autograph signing sessions with the hockey stars.
RefreshmentsA major hockey event without snacks and refreshing drinks? Unthinkable! A wide variety of refreshments will be available. A tasty sausage with chips and a cooling drink or maybe a delicious crêpe. There will be something for everyone in the catering area.
